Radio personality Darren Maule promises to bring along his ‘A Game’ when he hosts TAFTA’s 60th birthday Fundraising Gala Dinner at the Southern Sun Elangeni Hotel. Also on the entertainment line-up for the Night of Diamonds themed event is resident entertainer at the Oyster Box Hotel, and international artist Eric Canham. The event will contribute to the association’s nutritious meals programme that is responsible for feeding almost 800 needy elders both within Tafta homes and in surrounding Durban communities. Tickets cost R550 each or R5 500 per table and include a three-course dinner, an exclusive gift bag and an evening filled with entertainment. The 14th consecutive Durban International Blues Festival returns to ZACKS

Wilson’s Wharf from Thursday, 28 September to Saturday, 30 September. This year’s line-up is tight and concentrates on showcasing more local and national talent, an answer to the suggestions of both audiences and the artists themselves. Die hards to this event will know the drill at this venue, where seating is shared by all, food can be ordered from Zacks or any of the other participating venues who share the deck. White Mountain Music Festival

Now in its 13th year, White Mountain Music Festival is the perfect opportunity to escape the city and unwind in a stunning setting while enjoying a great line-up of some of the best acoustic acts in the country. Women’s Fundraising High Tea with CROW

CROW, the Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife, will host a Women’s Fundraising High Tea at 10am on 6 October 2018 at Kloof Country Club. The show is a snapshot into his life after turning 40 and how he juggles being a father of four, a husband, a comedian and an actor, while taking in the current cultural and political climates. ‘Massed Orchestra’ event

The British Cultural and Heritage Association (BCHA) is calling for aspirant orchestral musicians in Durban who would like to participate in the annual ‘Massed Orchestra’ event. All participants must be able to read and play music. They are required to pay an entry fee of R60 and register to play either as an individual or as part of a group. Interested players can contact Cheri Steenberg at BCHA office on 031 202 6174. The concert takes place at the Nkulisa Conference Centre at Penzance School in Glenwood. This year’s massed ad hoc orchestra will perform under the seasoned baton of conductor Sue Cock. As a curtain-raiser to the concert, which starts at 2.30 pm, Bryan Clark’s Caribbean Connection Steel Drum Band and the Westville Girls High School Marimba Band will entertain the audience between 2pm and 2.30pm. Tsogo Sun Amashova Durban Classic

Durban’s popular annual Tsogo Sun Amashova Durban Classic will see thousands of cyclists tackle the classic cycling race with its challenging routes marked from Pietermaritzburg to Durban. Cyclists can participate in the ‘fun’ 35km race, the ‘challenging’ 65km race, the ‘competitive’ 106km race or the newly added, ‘gruelling’ 160km race. Entries are open to everyone with a bike and a helmet!
