Roads closing on Sunday

MOTORISTS are urged to take note of road closures for the FNB Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN on Sunday, 14 October.

The start area in Athlone Drive between Lagoon Drive and Masabalala Yengwa Avenue will have full road closure from 2.30am to 8.30am.

Full road closure in Hunters Street from Stalwart Simelane to Sylvester Ntuli Road (northbound) from 4am to 10.30am and Sylvester Ntuli Road (northbound) from Hunters Street to KE Masinga Road will be a two lane closure (right two lanes) northbound from 6am to 9.15am.

West Street, Morrison Street and North Lane at the Sylvester Ntuli Road (northbound) intersection will be full closure from 6am to 9.15am and Battery Beach Road at Masabalala Yengwa Avenue intersection from 6.30am to 8.30am.

Southbound closure at the Sandile Thusi Road and Masabalala Yengwa Avenue offramp and onramp from 6.30am to 8.30am and southbound closure in Masabalala Yengwa Avenue from Smiso Nkwanyana Road to Walnut Road from 6.30am to 8.45am.

Full closure will be in Somtseu Road between Masabalala Yengwa Avenue and Lords Terrace (McCarthy Toyota intersection) and Kingsmead Way between Masabalala Yengwa Avenue and Kingsmead Boulevard from 6.30am to 8.45am.

Walnut Road from KE Masinga to Monty Naicker Road and the Bram Fisher Road and Walnut Road onramp slipway will be closed from 6.30am to 8.45am

Two lanes closed closest to City Hall in Dorothy Nyembe Street from Dr Pixley Kaseme Street to Anton Lembede Street and Anton Lembede Street from Samora Machel Street to Dorothy Nyembe Street from 6.30am to 9am.

Monty Naicker Road from Stalwart Simelane Street to Samora Machel Street and Samora Machel Street from Anton Lembede Street to Dr AB Xuma Street will be closed from 6.30am to 9.15am.

KE Masinga Road from Sylvester Ntuli Road to OR Tambo Parade will be closed with controlled crossings at Sylvester Ntuli Road from 6.30am to 9.30am. Playfair Road from Pavilion Terrace to KE Masinga Road will be closed from 6.30am to 9.30am and OR Tambo Parade from Pavilion Terrace to KE Masinga Road will be closed from 6.30am to 9.30am.

There will be southbound closure on Northway/Kenneth Kaunda Road from Riverside Road to Athlone Drive from 6.45am to 7.30am and on Masabalala Yengwa Avenue from Athlone Drive to Smiso Nkwanyana Road. Full closure on the Ruth First Highway and Isaiah Ntshangase offramp from Ruth First Highway to Masabalala Yengwa Avenue with controlled crossing at the Isaiah Ntshangase Road and Masabalala Yengwa Avenue intersection from 7.30am. No traffic access to Masabalala Yengwa Avenue southbound from 6.45am to 7.30am.

In Dr AB Xuma Street from Samora Machel Street to Florence Nzama Street there will be closure with controlled crossings at Stalwart Simelane Street from 7am to 9am and on Monty Naicker Road from Stalwart Simelane Street to Florence Nzama Street with controlled crossings at Stalwart Simelane Street from 7.40am.

Full closure from Florence Nzama Street from Hunters Street to Monty Naicker Road from 7am to 9am and in Dr Pixley Kaseme Street from Dorothy Nyembe Street to Samora Machel Street, Milne Street and East Street at the Florence Nzama Street intersection and Sylvester Ntuli Road and the Bram Fischer Road slip way at the Sylvester Ntuli Road (southbound) intersection from 7am to 9.15am.
