Music with a view at White Mountain

Music with a view at White Mountain

With just days to go, the countdown to this year’s White Mountain Festival has well and truly begun!

Now in its 13th year, the annual White Mountain Festival is coming up from 27 to 30 September and is the perfect opportunity to get away from it all and unwind in a stunning setting while enjoying a three-day line-up of some of the best acoustic acts in the country.

Known for its intimate, relaxed atmosphere, the festival is held at White Mountain Lodge in the foothills of the Giant’s Castle Nature Reserve, only 185km from Durban and just 28km off the N3 on tarred roads.

Included on the bill are the likes of Crimson House, The Black Cat Bones, Auldfield (featuring Wendy Oldfield and Robin Auld), Nomadic Orchestra, Bad Peter, Victoria Raw, Margaret’s Daughter, Beyond Vocal, Wolfgang Marrow, Barefoot Breeze, Black Harbour and Roarke Angelbright, to name a few.

Festival-goers can also look forward to vibrant arts and crafts, a wide variety of food and drink outlets, plus loads of outdoor activities for the whole family.  These include everything from free morning and sunset yoga and bootcamp sessions to a 100m zip line and fun stuff (like scavenger hunts) for the kids, as well as fishing and boating on the dam.  And that’s not forgetting the lodge’s spacious grounds, swimming pool and charming old stone pub (with satellite TV and late-night live music), which add another dimension to the usual festival experience!

Aside from general camping, which is included in the ticket price, there is also the option of booking into a stylish on-site ‘tent hotel’, offering a relaxing, hassle-free camping experience with all the comforts of home.  Think spacious walk-in tents, comfy beds, linen, towels, chairs, tables and hot showers.

On the food front, expect everything from freshly baked paninis and pizzas to lamb and venison potjie, quality fast foods, gourmet smoked meats, tacos, authentic vegetarian and Indian fare, Belgian waffles, soft serve ice cream, smoothies and speciality coffees.

Don’t miss this gem of a festival!  Tickets are available online at www.quicket.co.za or the festival gate.  For more information visit www.c-weed.com/wmf or call 031 563 0824.
