A little Spring in your step

“In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different.” —Coco Chanel Spring is finally here .. lets embrace it

Spring is here and as we move from warm winter socks and boots to peep toe shoes, cute colourful clutches and our favourite sunnies, we’re so ready to embrace the new season with some colour and flair.

This Spring the look is very simple, clean lines and comfort. We are loving the slip on sliders as they’re absolutely perfect, for our faced paced life styles .. that good old kick on and kick off approach.

Whether you decide to wear them poolside or slip them on as you’re rushing out the door on a warm day in Durban, they’re so comfy and definitely look the part!

We had the absolute pleasure of talking to Juene Ferreira, who knows all to well how hard it is to find that perfect Bikini

The most important thing is to identify your body type. Choose something that is figure flattering and shows off your greatest assets. Its all about feeling confident and beautiful in your swimsuit.

Buy quality over quantity. If you’re blessed with the best up top  its vital that your bikini can offer you the support you need.

Choose the correct size. Sizes vary from bikini to bikini and even brand to brand so there are many different size charts. The best thing  to do is get in touch with the supplier especially if you are buying  On-line for assistance with sizing.

Double knot everything! Make sure you can trust in your swimsuit  and that it’s secure to your body. You want to avoid any pee-ka-boo  oments especially when that big wave hits.

You don’t have to wear bikini. One pieces are great alternatives and  come in many different styles, sizes and patterns. You’re spoilt for  choice either way.

A word from Rochele le Roux a true inspiration architect from Spiritgirl

Rochele says best is to pair your favourite workout gear with a pair classic sneakers like Converse, Superga or Vans. These good old faithfuls are not only super practical, having you feel ready for any occasion, but they’re classy stylish and make your active wear more versatile.

If you don’t already have one, invest in a denim jacket which goes with any outfits year round. This fashion staple is a wardrobe necessity which can be worn over your gym wear in winter and completes the look with any urban wear or you favourite summer dress.

Local fashion guru Bianca from Shop Resonate says..

If it Resonates with you, wear it! Personally she loves big bold florals mixed with animal prints in vibrant colours for spring leading into summer. She does not believe in small minimalistic jewellery – earrings and necklaces need to be bright big and bold – embellishment is her key focus from clothing to handbags to shoes.

If a white T shirt and jeans is your vibe – make it pop with leopard print tassel sliders, tortoise Shelley bling earrings and add a necklace with a horn on. @shopresonate

Something new on your burger bun

Most of us love the idea of a burger, no matter what our food preference is, and burgers are certainly not for meat eaters alone. For those who are health conscious or don’t eat meat, why not add this Pouyoukas recipe of spicy lentil burgers to your burger night as an extra option.

Its time to READ competition

A wise man once quipped: Creativity is contagious. Pass it on. Albert Einstein certainly knew what he was speaking about, and when it comes to encouraging creativity and imagination in our youth, just think of the untold treasure, waiting to be discovered!
