Under Armour launches their first brand house store in KZN
Apollo Brands, the official distributor of Under Armour in South Africa, has heard the cries of consumers and hit the ground running in KZN (pun intended). Launching their very first Brand House store in the province, Durbanites can now welcome easy access to their favourite sports performance brand from Wednesday, 15 August 2018. With a focus on cutting-edge products and design, the Durban Brand House will serve as an outstanding example of the brand’s commitment to offering customers a superior shopping experience.
Where, When, What and How?
Featuring men’s, women’s and youth apparel as well as footwear and equipment- the new Brand House will be the signature space to shop a full line of Under Armour products that make athletes look, feel and perform at their best. Under Armour’s newest store will feature the brand’s latest innovations, across various product categories, including outdoor, team sports, training, running, golf, studio, youth and footwear. Among the technical apparel available for purchase will be HeatGear®, ColdGear® and Threadborne®, a new training apparel technology platform.
According to Lorrianne Cloete, Brand Manager for Under Armour in South Africa, “Under Armour is an iconic global sports apparel brand driven by innovation and design, so it is extremely exciting to expand our national footprint. Our global brand commitment is to make all athletes better through performance and innovation, while providing consumers with an unparalleled shopping experience.”
Celebrations will circumnavigate around the launch of the fresh HOVR Sonic colourways, which will take centre stage in and around the grand opening of Gateway Mall.
Available in the original two styles – HOVR Phantom and HOVR Sonic – expect the same ground-breaking technology with a fresh new interface and equivalent cushioning expertise.
Phantom (R2799): HOVR Phantom which was launched in a neutral colourway of Khaki, White, Black and Blue will now be available in a Spicy Asteroid Grey (for those who like to make a statement on and off the tracks), a Cheeky Orange and Black (for a neon buzz), a powerful Dark Grey and a striking white and black contrast for a statement neutral pop.
HOVR Sonic (R1999): HOVR Sonic launched in only Grey, will now be available in a Grey and Black contrast, Light-Blue Blaze and a Nautical Navy Blue.
In true brand style, Under Armour doesn’t launch without making a bit of a splash. Expect a plethora of activities, giveaways and interactive stations which are bound to get even the most static person moving in their sneakers.

- #Winsday Competition: Shoppers who buy anything in store on 15 August and post a pic on their social media tagging Under Armour & Gateway with the #Winsday hashtag will stand a chance to win a R3000 Under Armour voucher
- HOVR Sonic Activation: Stationed in the H&M Centre Court, Under Armour will host a selfie station, where lookers-on will be encouraged to post a selfie and post it on Instagram using the #UnderArmourGateway. Those who post the selfie will be entitled to 20% OFF in-store for that day only.
