Crowds descended upon Chatsworth Circus

26 to 29 July in support of the 2018 Serendipity Travel ABH Chatsworth Fair.

This annual event, started in 1989, raises much-needed funds for the Aryan Benevolent Home (ABH), a non-profit organisation which has provided holistic care for children, the elderly and the physically or mentally challenged regardless of race, religion or social class since 1921. Visitors to this fun-filled event were treated to a host of entertainment including carnival rides from Tommy’s World Fair and more than 100 retail and food stalls. The edu-fair schools’ programme – run on Thursday, 26 and Friday, 27 July – welcomed hundreds of primary and secondary schoolchildren to the fair. A highlight on the event calendar this year was the gala dinner performance by legendary Bollywood celebrities, Abhijeet Bhattacharya and Amit Kumar, who put on a memorable performance to a packed Durban City Hall on Friday, 27 July. Those who couldn’t make the black-tie event were given the chance to enjoy their musical hits at the fair on Saturday evening

Buon appetito!

With nothing but a suitcase full of dreams and her faithful friend ‘the cello’, Cecilia Di Cecco left Italy to work as a musician with the KZNPO in Durban. Here she learnt to cultivate her music and at the same time began a love affair with food that eventually led to the recent launch of her first cookbook, Cucina in South Africa.
