Oki Dub Ainu Band (Japan) – blending the music of the Ainu people of Japan with dub, reggae and afrobeat grooves

The Oki Dub Ainu Band takes a contemporary approach to the music of the Ainu people of Japan, blending Ainu folk melodies with dub, reggae, electronica and afrobeat grooves. The six-piece band is led by Oki Kano, who plays the tonkori, an ancient Ainu zither-like instrument. Having toured most of the world in his long career, Oki and his band have played an important role in the revival and refocusing of the music of the Ainu people.
