A Winter Extravaganza is Headed Your Way

A Winter Extravaganza is Headed Your Way

Do you fear becoming a fashion victim? Do you even know what that means? Or do you understand how to translate fashion into your own unique style? Fashion is what you buy, but style is what you do with it. Us Durbanites aren’t too keen for the arrival of winter – the celcius drops by 5 degrees and we haul out the furs (faux of course!). But this winter, we have an extravaganza to look forward to, and it’s is an eagerly anticipated event where you’ll discover all of the the latest trends.

After living in Durban for 41 years, travelling abroad on buying trips and focusing on trend forecasting, Daniyel Berry has realised that very few people are marrying style and fashion. There is a unique way to ensure that you’re current and on trend, as opposed to being a slave to fashion. In general, South Africans are too skittish to explore and incorporate trends into their lifestyles. They are not sure how to add subtle elements as part of their personality, like colour, current fits, styles and accessories to enhance their look.

“Capsule Dressing” has become a trending topic, and bulging wardrobes are SO last season. Our busy lifestyles cannot accommodate clutter and too many choices, so we are striving for simplicity and time-saving options.

This April sees a premiere event that will give you inspiration for the coming winter season, and with presentations by Style Me, Estee Lauder and Satin Candy, you’re sure to walk away with several nuggets you’ll be able to implement right away.

For your convenience, the event will be hosted on two different dates and at two different venues. On Friday the 13th of April you’ll be indulged with canapes and bubbly at the glamourous Butler’s Bistro in Hillcrest. Or enjoy a mini high tea on Tuesday the 17th of April at the regal Mount Edgecombe Country Club.

For only R350pp you can look forward to an explosive experience including pop-up boutique stalls, a gift/goodie bag as well as fabulous prizes on offer.

Its time to READ competition

A wise man once quipped: Creativity is contagious. Pass it on. Albert Einstein certainly knew what he was speaking about, and when it comes to encouraging creativity and imagination in our youth, just think of the untold treasure, waiting to be discovered!

Glad to go camping

The kids are on their mid-year hols and a camping weekend’s on the cards. Woo hoo.

How are you enjoying your Cadbury Breakaway?

Chocolate wrapped and filled wafer. On a chilly winter night, there’s really not much more we want than this, a mug of coffee and a good book.

Adventure awaits…

Buon appetito!

With nothing but a suitcase full of dreams and her faithful friend ‘the cello’, Cecilia Di Cecco left Italy to work as a musician with the KZNPO in Durban. Here she learnt to cultivate her music and at the same time began a love affair with food that eventually led to the recent launch of her first cookbook, Cucina in South Africa.
