Women360 debuts in KZN

The not-to-be-missed Women360 experiential event debuts at the Sibaya Casino Sun Park in Durban from Friday, February 23 to Sunday, February 25 as part of the official Miss South Africa regional competition.

According to sponsors Cell C and Sun International, the aim of Women360 is to present a positive, constructive, educational and entertaining platform, showcasing a variety of options available for women who wish to explore new avenues to enrich and enhance their lives.

Managing Executive: Cell C Commercial Communication, Suzette van der Merwe says: “Women of all ages are invited to come and unwind in a relaxing atmosphere where they can explore a new interest, purchase a great find, connect with inspiring speakers and experts or simply indulge themselves!”

“The year 2018 is also a very special year for us as we celebrate the 60th anniversary of Miss South Africa. To mark this occasion, the regional competition will be open to the public for the very first time so make sure you get your tickets,” she adds. “Our vision as the Miss South Africa Organisation is to inspire and uplift all entrants, so we encourage them to take advantage of the informative sessions lined-up as part of the Women360 offering.”

This is reiterated by Gareth Flusk, Executive, Sun International: “We are delighted that Women360 will be hosted at our versatile Sun Park venue. It complements our Miss South Africa sponsorship as it offers a diverse experience that will entertain and empower women and men alike. From fashion to fragrance, health and nutrition, trends and tips, the latest aesthetics treatments and self-defence, we have it covered. The stylish Oyster & Champagne Garden will offer fabulous food and entertainment from local talent Sketchy Bongo and one of Mzansi’s most successful young female artists, DJ Zinhle.”

Women360 kicks off at 16h00 on the Friday (February 23) with Fashionation, where top Durban designers will show off their collections as they contest for the opportunity to become part of the panel that will dress Miss South Africa 2018 during her year of reign.

Speakers focusing on health and wellness include biokineticist Letshego Zulu, who will be discussing fitness and healthy living; current Miss South Africa Dr Adè van Heerden who will lead a Q&A on mental health, depression, eating disorders and anxiety, and Dr Mattheo de Villiers who will give advice on aesthetics and preventative medicine. Other speakers to look forward to include leading expert on social media law, Emma Sadleir, who will point out the pitfalls of being online and how to protect yourself and be digitally savvy, while Mark Grobbelaar, a 6th Dan karate expert and creator of the acclaimed Women INPowered (WIP), will give a demonstration from his courses which empower women with tools to help them deal with life-threatening situations.

The day will end off with a workshop, organised by the Miss South Africa Organisation, especially for those interested in entering Miss South Africa. This includes a make-up demo masterclass by expert Gina Myers, sharing the innermost secrets and tricks of the trade with acclaimed pageant coach and creative director Werner Wessels and tips from catwalk expert Andiswa Manxiba and model boss Lara White.
