Senhor Peri Peri

Senhor Peri Peri

Senhor Peri Peri brings its love for family and love for food to Durban with the opening of its very first eatery. Nestled in Mount Edgecombe’s newest shopping destination, Cornubia Mall, Senhor Peri Peri offers Durbanites its modern twist on Portuguese cuisine.

Senhor Peri Peri’s unique take on well-loved favourites is sure to have diners coming back for more. From the sought-after Peri Peri Chicken to succulent Mozambican styled prawns, creamy Chicken Livers and hearty Beef Prego, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Founder and inspiration Jorge Calisto was born in a small northern town in Portugal. His love for experimentation led him to create a table Peri Peri sauce made with the famous Bird’s Eye Chilli. Next, came a full range of traditional sugar-free sauces made in a variety of flavours: Lemon & Herb, Medium, Mild, Hot and for the very brave, X-Hot. Jorge’s love for food and travel lead to his exploration of the colourful and vibrant country of Mozambique, where he fell in love with the culture, fresh cuisine and striking colours.

The new Senhor Peri Peri eatery pays tribute to Mozambique, with pops of colour throughout the eatery. Neutral features such as the cork and circular wooden, light-fittings complement the brightly detailed wall mural, which encapsulates the authenticity, warmth and personality of the eatery. The Senhor Peri Peri eatery, which always stays true to its roots and welcomes all diners as a part of its family, is the brainchild of Jorge Calisto and the Fournews Group, industry leaders with over 23 years’ experience.

“We are extremely excited about the launch of Senhor Peri Peri in Durban,” says brand manager, Varina Singh. “We think our concept of the modern Portuguese eatery will bring a unique and flavoursome experience to Cornubia Mall. ,” Singh adds.

Store Franchisees, brothers, Cohen and Leveshan proudly stand rooted in their strong family values that extend to their new eatery, Senhor Peri Peri. It is for this reason that Senhor Peri Peri welcomes family’s alike. Having been enthusiastic entrepreneurs for over 10 years and coming from a family of business owners, these brothers are confident in their new endeavour and believe in Senhor Peri Peri’s unique offering.

“Our passion lies in our hands-on approach and we are extremely excited to have opened the first store in Durban,” says Cohen Senhor Peri Peri Cornubia Franchisee.

50 Shades of Pink

When it comes to wine, especially rosé, there are loads of guys who won’t touch it. Maybe it’s because they prefer a beer or a more refined spirit; maybe it’s because it comes in a stemmed glass, who knows?. What we can say though, based on the confessions of our local wine fundi, Jan-Nico Coetzee, is that even the tough guys have a palate for rose, and thanks to the bottled beauties listed below, we now know just why.
