Watercolour Society KZN annual exhibition

Watercolour Society KZN annual exhibition

Shoppers had additional reason to visit the the Watercrest Mall recently when the Watercolour Society KZN held its annual exhibition there.

The exhibition included works by well known local artists Barbara Siedle, Marion Townsend, Maureen Dixon and Grant wood and had a wide and colourful variety of themes.

The Watercolour Society KZN meets regularly at Westville Methodist church on Jan Hofmeyer Road, Westville on the 1st Saturday of the month from 9am till 12pm. The meetings consist of either a demonstration or a morning workshop. The workshops focus on various techniques applicable to water-based painting mediums, as well as design principles, use of colour and contrasts of light and shade.  Experienced facilitators give brief demonstrations and examples. Members and visitors can then set about doing their own painting, incorporating the guidance given. The facilitator will be available to give advice if needed. It is always a very enjoyable morning being creative with like-minded people with time for tea and snacks too.
