Mad about hats
They keep you cool
The first rule of summer is to stay cool at all costs. Light layers are key and summer hats are great. They offer your head, neck and ears protection from the heat, and if the weather suddenly decides to present a breeze, you can easily match one up with a light and pretty scarf, so you’ll be comfortable all day long.
They come in all different styles
Whether you want a hand-knitted beanie with a cute pattern or a wide-brimmed statement grey hat, with the variety in stores these days, you’re bound to find something for you. People have different shaped faces and different sized heads, which means that not everybody can pull off the same hat, so, when you go shopping for summer hats, take your time and select a few that really show off your best features and personality.
They’re the best cure for a bad hair day
Have you ever had a day where you’ve woken up, crawled out of bed and decided the day wasn’t worth even washing, brushing of styling your hair? Or, where your hair just won’t comply with your plans? Well, that’s when having a range of summer hats helps, because nobody can see the disaster underneath!
They can dress up or dress down an outfit
Whether you are popping in to the office to sort out some paperwork or going to a semi-formal, mid-morning brunch with some old high school friends you haven’t seen in at least a year, summer hats can be worn in a simple style or boldly dressed up with a few fabulous accessories.
They’re easy to take on and off
In summer layering cool clothing is the way to go, especially if you are moving between environments with differing temperatures, such as an air-con office or outside in the heat, so it makes sense to wear things that are easy to remove, and hats are the easiest to take off without ruining your entire outfit.
They can be worn three days in a row
Even if you’re not seeing the same people every day, you still don’t want to be caught wearing the same thing multiple times in a week. Unlike your favourite summer shirt or jeggings, you can wear the same hat a few days in a row. As long as your clothing is different, a hat is simply a stylish and practical accessory you add to the mix to change your look, hide your hair or step out on style.
