Annual Sunflower Celebration

Whilst thirteen may be an unlucky number for some, 120 guests dressed to the nines in their casino charm enjoyed a night of all things good at the Annual Sunflower Celebration which took place on Friday 13th October at the Sea Cottage Room of the Greyville Convention Centre. Excitement and entertainment was the name of the game at this fundraising event themed ‘Cocktails, Canapes and Casino’.

Guests were treated to KWV sparkling wine on arrival, delectable canapés prepared by Eat Greek Caterers, an indulgent ‘Boston Brownie’ courtesy of Chateau Gateaux, an awesome B.O.N Natural Oils gift per person, live music by the popular Durban-based duo ‘Too Close’ and fun casino games by Casino Parties.

Larger than life media personality, David Yapp, was the host with the most and his powers of persuasion yielded a whopping R14 000 from the exhilarating auction held on the night. Lucky guests walked away with an impressive assortment of fantastic prizes including special rewards for those who excelled at the casino tables.

Also attending the event was B.O.N Natural Oils representative, Chantal Anley, who presented The Sunflower Fund with a cheque for a significant R13 000 from their #hopeforevery1 campaign.

Funds raised from the event will enable The Sunflower Fund to create awareness as well as educate and recruit more blood stem cell donors for inclusion on the local Registry and offer the hope of life to patients suffering from life-threatening blood conditions like leukaemia.

For more information on The Sunflower Fund or how to become a  blood stem cell donor, please visit www.sunflowerfund.org.za or call toll free 0800 12 10 82.
