Crazy pooches gear up for winter

Crazy pooches gear up for winter

If you have a dog that spends most of its time going crazy in your backyard, or a kitty that whiles away the day in a sunny patch on the front porch, winter’s arrival may be a rude awakening. Sure, your precious pets are covered in fur, but just like us humans, many just aren’t equipped to be out in South Africa’s chilly temperatures for lengthy periods.

So as the seasons start to change and the climate drops, we thought we’d give you some tips and advice on how you and your fur child can enjoy the upcoming winter months to the absolute fullest, along with some of the best pet products The Crazy Store is promoting from 19 June – 9 July.

A FRESH COAT

Firstly, get your pet ready for winter by taking it for a nice groom at your local pet grooming spa.

This last summer was a hot one, and the last thing we’d want is for a dirty fur child staying indoors when it’s raining cats and dogs outside (pun intended).

Some items to help you maintain that fresh coat of theirs:

Brush and Microfibre Drying Towel ranging from R34.99 to R49.99

Product code: 72-000014 and 072-020346

A NEW BEDROOM AND WARDROBE

We all know how great it feels to rock a new outfit, especially heading into the new season! Why don’t you spoil your pet with a new wardrobe and buy them a few winter goodies that we’re sure would be on their wish list.

Pet Shirt for Boys & Girls from R79.99

Product code: 072-000152 and 072-000162

Pet’s Fleecy Blankets from R59.99

Product code: 072-020249

Fleece Pet Bed and Burger Shape Cat Bed from R199.99

Product code: 072-020238 and 072-020248

ACCESSORISE

While you’re gearing up for a cosy winter with your loved fur child, why don’t you add some sparkle to their lives with a new collar, lead and pendant? You’d need to complete the look after all that grooming and outfit shopping!

Dog and Cat Collars and Leads from R19.99 each

Product code: 072-000232

Pet dog nylon harness from R59.99 each

Product code: 072-000600

GIVE THEM A BREAK

We know it gets difficult to leave your loved ones at home in the mornings, especially in the cold dark winter months! As sad as you are to leave them, they are just as sad to not have you there all to themselves as well – so why don’t you surprise them with a day out at a day care centre or hotel? When we keep them all to ourselves all the time, we tend to forget how vital animal socialising is.

Follow this guide to a happy, warm, dry, crazy winter in with your furred loved ones this season!
