Hillcrest High’s Carpe Jugulum
Head of Drama, Mrs Georgina Giorko, was very proud of her cast, who said they had “an absolute blast” and were sad to see it end. The most challenging part of putting the play together was making sure everything came together at the end – costumes, set, sound and lighting – and come together it certainly did…the audience feedback was excellent, with many saying it was the best show they had seen in years.
The sets were phenomenal and though Mrs Giorko’s vision and design, a huge thanks for them must be extended to Lucy Baxter and Michelle Gerber who did set construction and Frances Konigkramer who did all the artwork.
A special commendation to the main actors for their Oscar-worthy performances – Nanny Ogg, played by Alexandra Pretorius; Bridget Jeffery (Agnes Nitt); Jeneveev Da Costa (Perdita); Amy Le Roux (Granny Weatherwax); Joshua Coetzer (Count); Jessica Ninow (Countess); Dylan Swanepoel (Vlad); Stacey Walker (Lacrimosa); Breez-Tae Morrell (Magrat Garlick) and an especial star performance by Jonathan Wright (Igor).
Congratulations to the whole cast and crew, the play took 5 months to get to performance level and all their hard work paid off.
