Wine Pairing Dinner at Big Easy Durban by Ernie Els
Ernie Els’ passion for fine wines led to him choosing Stellenbosch as the base for his viticultural operation, which has since borne fruit in the form of the successful and popular Ernie Els Wines range.
“Spending time with friends over a great bottle of wine and a meal in a fun, relaxed environment,” is Ernie’s ethos and it is only fitting that his selection is enjoyed on this occasion.
The Big Easy Chenin Blanc, Ernie Els Sauvignon Blanc and Big Easy Red Blend are just some of the wines that have been selected to be paired with the delicious menu which has been devised by Big Easy’s Head Chef Janine Fourie.
‘Local is lekker’-herb and lime-rubbed trout, a star anise and savannah jasper pork belly and biltong-spiced Springbok fillet are courses that will share the attention with their paired wines.
Andrew Harris from the Ernie Els Wine Estate will guide and enlighten guests through the selected wines’ nuances and characteristics during the culinary journey.
Lovers of food and wine are guaranteed an entertaining evening, good company and the opportunity to sample fine wines with carefully selected, delectable food creations.
